Successful «Public Eye on Davos» in New York
In 2002 Public Eye followed the World Economic Forum across the Atlantic, after the WEF had decided to hold its annual meeting in New York out of solidarity with the city after the terror attacks of 9/11. In truth, the move was probably at least partly motivated by the growing protests in Davos and the lack of security guarantees on the part of the police. The Public Eye Conference at the UN Church Center in New York was opened by the Swiss President. 40 speakers and nine panel discussions drew no less than 1500 participants and media representatives from all over the world.
