The Berne Declaration urges Switzerland to take a leading role in promoting equitable development. This means not only raising what by international standards is the country’s embarrassingly low level of development aid but also improving the worldliness of its political decision-making. This requires that parliament, administration and Swiss representatives at international organizations acquire a truly international perspective.
